Songwriting Workshop I

Workshop Description:
This workshop is a hands-on, introductory workshop designed to give a basic understanding of music composition and the tools for writing effective, compelling lyrics. Additionally, it will touch on ways to promote yourself as a songwriter, and the resources that are available to you.

Whether you are already a songwriter, or just getting started, this workshop will give you the tools you need to take your songwriting to the next level!

If you have never studied music theory before, or are simply in need of a brush-up, you will benefit from this course.


Preparation:
As this is a hands-on workshop, each participant should, ideally, bring a keyboard (even a small, inexpensive one will do) or guitar. If you have any difficulty obtaining a keyboard or guitar for the workshop, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you. Additionally, you will want to bring a pad and pen (or pencil) for the lyric writing portion of the workshop and for taking notes.

It is important that participants arrive well rested and well fed, and that no alcoholic beverages have been consumed within 24 hours prior to the workshop.
