Music Theory II

Workshop Description:
This workshop is a direct continuation of Music Theory I. In the workshop, you will gain an understanding of the relationship between scales and chords, melodies to chords, and how they apply to songwriting. Through this course of study, you will gain an enhanced understanding of how to read and write music.

Prerequisite: Music Theory I

If you have never studied music theory before, or are simply in need of a brush-up, you will benefit from this course.


Preparation:
As this is a hands-on workshop, each participant should, ideally, bring a keyboard (even a small, inexpensive one will do) or guitar. If you have any difficulty obtaining a keyboard or guitar for the workshop, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you. Additionally, you will want to bring a pad and pen (or pencil) to the workshop for taking notes.

It is important that participants arrive well rested and well fed, and that no alcoholic beverages have been consumed within 24 hours prior to the workshop.
