Music Theory I

Workshop Description:
The goal of this workshop is to supply the artist with a working, applied knowledge of music theory. Traversing the history of the subject from its beginnings to it's present state, the core material will assist in unraveling the mystery shrouding music notation, rhythmic values, and the "lingo" used by musicians. -ALSO- through this incredibly powerful workshop, you'll learn how to play basic piano and guitar!

If you have never studied music theory before, or are simply in need of a brush-up, you will benefit from this course.

Preparation:
As this is a hands-on workshop, each participant should, ideally, bring a keyboard (even a small, inexpensive one will do) or guitar. If you have any difficulty obtaining a keyboard or guitar for the workshop, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you. Additionally, you will want to bring a pad and pen (or pencil) to the workshop for taking notes.

It is important that participants arrive well rested and well fed, and that no alcoholic beverages have been consumed within 24 hours prior to the workshop.
