Find YOUR Voice

by Jennifer Truesdale

One of the greatest joys of being a teacher is seeing my students succeed and assisting them in making the discoveries that will help them to continue to succeed. Recently one of my students made a statement that I wanted to share with you. It was simple yet profound. “If I want my voice to improve I have to be willing to let it be different”.

Never have truer words been spoken. Now, he wasn’t talking about trying to sound like someone else, or no longer sounding anything like himself. Rather, he was talking about being willing to explore the possibilities of what is voice COULD be, instead of what he had always considered that it was. This willingness to explore opens up the possibilities for greater improvement and is truly what helps a singer to discover his or her TRUE voice. It’s in there, believe me, I know.

So, my wish for you in the coming New Year is that you will open yourself up to the possibilities of what you CAN be (as a singer, as an artist and more) and look past any previous considerations you may have had. Then, you can Find YOUR Voice!

I’ll leave you with some words from another student:

“I’ve just recently finished 6 months of voice lessons with Jennifer Truesdale at Jeannie Deva Voice Studios in Arlington, MA and I am amazed by the results. These past 6 months have transformed my voice into the voice I always wanted, but never before had access to.

The whole transformation process was an amazing experience, and something that I realize now is available to anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort. I wasted years looking for that magic answer that would just flip a switch and instantly give me the voice I’d always dreamed of, but this program gave me so much more. It taught me that a little effort every day, combined with the right techniques and guidance from a true expert in a structured setting, would bring me the results far beyond what I could’ve ever imagined or achieved on my own.” – Adriana Giancoli
